Sarah E. (Betty) Pine, 97, of Kingston, died peacefully at home with family at her side, Friday May 4, 2018.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late, Francis and Edna Hallenbeck Phinney. Betty graduated Kingston High School and attended New Paltz College. She worked at Kingston Lace Mill, Hercules Powder Plant, during World War II, the Kingston Schools Cafeteria System, and National Micronetics.
Betty is survived by her two sons, William F. Pine and Edward C. Pine and his wife Eileen, daughter-in-law Theresa Pine, 6 grandchildren - Aileen Pine Helsley, Jennifer Pine and fianc Jordan, Colleen Pine Molnar of Florida and husband Justin, Kathryn Pine Kaczmarek, of Conn. and husband Quentin, Joseph Pine of Wis., and Caryn Pine of Hurley. 4 Great-Grandchildren Teagan Helsley of Hurley, Parker and Arya Molnar of Florida, and Camdyn Kaczmarek of Connecticut, also survive.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Harold Pine, who passed in 2008, a son, Harold B. Pine, who was killed in a hunting accident, a brother, Charles Phinney who died in World War II and 5 sisters, Miriam Schimmel, Jayne Osterhoudt, Norma Fatum, Kathryn Spencer and Ruth Cook.
Betty will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4-7 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Darlene Kelley from the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
