Sara Adams, 46, of Melbourne, FL, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Wuesthoff Hospice in Rockledge, FL.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of Michael & Doris Zackheim of Melbourne, FL.
Sara Adams was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. She took great delight in planning family vacations. Her plans were highly detail oriented, accommodated almost everyone's preferences and remained fun. After earning her PhD in History at the University of Rochester, Sara went to work as an academic advisor at Webster University. In this position, she was able to put her amazing planning skills to use in guiding others to achieve their educational goals. Sara loved working on the board of the business school honor society Delta Mu Delta. She went to many different colleges and universities to help them install new chapters of the society. She raised two amazingly talented and well-rounded children and instilled in them a love of art and music. All the while, she was a loving wife and phenomenal companion. Sara never met an event she didn't love to plan. Both children had B'nei Mitzvot that were delightful, unusual, and, of course, well planned. In addition to her parents, Sara is survived by her husband, of 21 years, Marc Adams of Melbourne, FL, whom she married on August 28, 1994, a son, Alexander Adams and a daughter, Julie Adams, both of Melbourne, FL. A sister, Marjorie Zackheim and her partner, Rudy Nagy of Melbourne, FL also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Montrepose Cemetery with Rabbi Yael Romer of Congregation Emanuel, officiating.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Delta Mu Delta, 9217 Broadway Ave., Brookfield, IL 60513-1251.
