Sandra J. Rose, 68, of Cottekill, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 24, 1943 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Jean McAnnaney
She was a graduate of Shamokin High School, then went to Bloomsburg University for her undergraduate degree and her Masters at SUNY New Paltz. She had been employed by the Kingston City Schools Consolidated as a special education teacher at the Edson Elementary School until her retirement.
Sandra was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America; she was very active with the arts and crafts group at church. She stayed active tutoring and enjoyed gardening. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving family, her husband Merritt F. Rose, her son RJ Wirth and his wife Nikita, a step son Timothy Rose and his wife Sharon and Christopher Rose and his wife Stephanie, grandchildren Daniel, Adam, Alyssa and Peyton Rose, a brother John McAnnaney and his wife Sylvia, and two nieces Stacy and Kelly. She was predeceased by a daughter Lisa Wirth
The funeral for Sandra Rose: A Celebration of Life will be Thursday evening 6:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 104 Wurts St. Kingston. A reception to follow. The Rev. James Rowe, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, 104 Wurts St. Kingston, NY 12401.
