Samuel E. Mitchell, Jr. of Butternut Knolls, West Shokan died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Kingston Hospital. He was 60.
He was born in Middletown, a son of Eugenia Wiecek Mitchell and the late Samuel E. Mitchell.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Independence. A butcher, he was employed by Sam's Club in Kingston. He was a friend of Bill W. He enjoyed the outdoors and his dog Shadow.
His wife Linda Stanganelli Mitchell died May 19, 2009.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his son, Sam Mitchell, III of Kentucky; his daughter, Alyxandra Mitchell and her fiance, Shawn Sevin of West Shokan; his twin brother, Joseph A. Mitchell and his wife Mitzi of Coryton, TN; two sisters, Jane Sinsabaugh and her husband Ted of Newhampton, NY and Barbara Kwiecinski and her husband Chuck of Johnson, NY. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Silvia Stanganelli, a granddaughter, Victoria Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday from 1 - 4 PM and a candle lighting service will take place at 4:00 PM at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston.
