Sally M. Cooper Willt Every, 85, of Smith Avenue, Kingston, died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Sally was born on March 6, 1933 in Saugerties, to the late Earle and Carrie Myer Cooper. After graduating from Saugerties High School in 1951, Sally went on to work for Tom Reynolds Photography, Montgomery Wards in Kingston and finally becoming a house cleaner. Sally was an avid bowler, receiving many trophies. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church for over 50 years, serving as a past president of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Chancel choir and was on various committees for the church. Sally loved most of all, sitting on her front porch and talking to anyone who passed by.
Sally married the late William G. Willt of Kingston in 1954. They were happily married for over 30 years before his death. She married her second husband, the late Louis Every in 1994 and they were married until his death in 2014. She is survived by her sister, Irene Russell of Kingston, and her niece, Stacey Russell and her husband, Michael Every. She also leaves behind several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Percy Russell.
A Funeral Service for Sally will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. James United Methodist Church, corner of Fair & Pearl Streets, Kingston.
Interment will follow at Blue Mountain Cemetery, Saugerties, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. James Memorial Fund, 35 Pearl Street, Kingston, NY, 12401.
