Sadie (Sharkey) Smith, 70, passed away Sunday, Sept 6, 2015 after a courageous and determined fight with cancer. She was born on May 22, 1945 in Greenock, Scotland, the daughter of the late Marion Drysdale and Charles Sharkey.
Sadie is survived by her daughters, Heather M. Stine of Kingston, Elise Smith of Rosendale, and her granddaughter, Audrey.
Sadie's fearless spirit was well known amongst family and friends. True to her soul, she proved time and again she could overcome difficult struggles and accomplish whatever she put her mind to. Sadie's true loves were her daughters and her granddaughter. Sadie was an extraordinary mother and protector and always encouraged her daughters to dream big, be kind, and never give up.
She was a lover of animals and always kind to those less fortunate. Sadie enjoyed her Harley motorcycle rides, her many laughs with her "Forker" family, exploring new adventures, and spending quality time with her friends and loved ones. Sadie, a devoted daughter, mother, nana, friend, a generous and loving person will be missed by many, especially by her daughters who are so proud of her accomplishments and her will to never give up.
