Sadie Lutzin Miliman, of Wurts St., Kingston and Lake Worth, Florida died Friday, November 28, 2003 at the Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Virginia. She was 90.
She was born in Kingston on February 15, 1913, a daughter of the late Philip and Fannie Kline Lutzin.
During WW II she drove trucks to transport soldiers at an US Army base in Denver, Colorado.
Mrs. Miliman graduated from New Paltz Teacher’s College and taught in Kingston City schools for over 30 years. She retired in 1974 and belonged to the Teachers Union.
A member of Congregation Agudas Achim, she was active in Hadassah and the Sisterhood of Agudas Achim. She ran the Brith Abraham Cemetery at Montrepose Cemetery for many years.
She lived in Kingston for over 60 years and then maintained a residence in Lake Worth, Florida. She was involved in her condominium community art club, organized museum tours and ran the Beaux Artes Ball in Lake Worth, FL. She played clarinet in community orchestras.
Her husband Charles Miliman died in 1995. Her brother Sidney G. Lutzin died in 1999.
Sister in law of Lillian Lutzin, aunt of Paula Beth Lutzin, Judith Hurwitz and her husband Don; great aunt of Joshua and Seth Cohen. Many cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 PM at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yitzcock Hecht will officiate. Interment in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Agudas Achim, PO Box 3573, Kingston, NY 12402.
