Ruth Elaine Hellard, 80, of Leggs Mill Road, Lake Katrine, NY, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY. She was born June 4, 1929 in Penfield, NY to the late Howard E. and Pearl V. (VanDerzell) Sherman.

She was married to Lowell E. Hellard They wed on June 21, 1955. Lowell died in 1987.

Ruth was a Toll collector for NYS Thruway, Kingston, NY.

Ruth was a member of Penfield First Baptist Church, Penfield, NY

Ruth loved fishing, gardening, bird watching, crossword puzzles, stamp collecting & sports.
She was an avid reader, and loved to knit.

Ruth is survived by her:
Daughters; Sharon Hollon, Milwaukie, OR, Carol A. Mannhaupt, Lake Katrine, NY, and Marguerite Hellard, Bloomington, NY,
Brother; Howard Sherman, Ft. Meyers, FL
9 Grandchildren,
5 Great Grandchildren,
Several Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.
