Marblehead, Ohio - Ruth B. Nathe of Stoutenburg Drive, Marblehead, Ohio died October 21, 2003 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 81.
She was born in Ossining, NY on May 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Paul Thure and E. Florence Larsson Brorstrom. She was raised in Pleasantville and then married Raymond J. Nathe on June 19, 1946. During WW II Mrs. Nathe worked for the American Red Cross in New York City.
She moved to Phoenix, Arizona for several years and then returned to Pleasantville. For 20 years Mrs. Nathe was a kindergarten teacher for the Pleasantville Union Free School District #9.
In 1986 she moved to Marblehead, OH where she was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Marblehead. Mrs. Nathe was a director for the Holiday Bureau in Marblehead, and worked with the Danbury Township Food Pantry, providing food baskets for families in need.
One brother Paul Brorstrom and one sister Grace Oakey both died previously.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 57 years are three sons Paul R. Nathe of New Paltz, NY, Eric J. Nathe of Grand Rapids, OH and Carl W. Nathe of Lexington, KY; one daughter Janet Potts of Missoula, Montana; ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted in Marblehead, Ohio on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, Kingston.
