Rosemarie E. Jansen

Rosemarie "Rosie/Roey" Jansen, of Lucas Avenue died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. She was 73. A lifelong Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Edna May Barringer Scully. She married Ronald E. Jansen Sr. on September 23, 1956. For the past 19 years she operated "Roey's Daycare" from her home. Over the years she was a Certified Nurses Aid, worked at Walmart and Rite Aid, and as a seamstress for area dress-making companies. Rosemarie enjoyed crafts, with crocheting as top priority. An avid camper, she attended St. Mary's Church, Kingston and the St. Joseph's Hurley Mission. Beloved wife of the late Ronald E. Jansen, Sr. who died August 27, 2005; loving mother of Cynthia Reinhardt and her husband John of Kingston, Ronald E. Jansen, Jr. of Kingston and his wife, the late Jo Ann, Cherie Traficante of Kingston and Rondamarie Jansen and her fiance Steven Rodschat of Ulster Park; sister of Robert Frank Scully of Kingston, Ginny Scully of Kingston and the late John Scully, Edna Mae Heil and Evelyn MacDonald; grandmother of Stefanie and Salvatore Traficante, Rosanne and Victoria Jansen. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
