Rose T. Amato

Rose T. Amato, of Lohmaier Lane, Lake Katrine died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 87. She was born in Glasco on May 28, 1917, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosaria Cosenza Turco. She married Michael J. 'Geno' Amato on October 10, 1937. Formerly of Delaware Street, Glasco, for many years Rose worked as a seamstress and presser. Over the years she worked for the Manhattan Shirt Factory in Kingston and Vinnie Lu in Glasco. Her husband died September 23, 1999. Five brothers Anthony, Santo, Francesco, Luigi and Joseph and two sisters Rosina and Anna Turco all died previously. Surviving are her daughter Cynthia A. Wadnola and her husband Fred fo the Town of Ulster; her son Michael F. Amato of Ft. Myers, Florida; two grandsons Christopher Michael Wadnola and Frederick James Wadnola II and his wife Dana; one great grandson Frederick James Wadnola III; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Simpson- Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:15 AM. Interment in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.
