Rose Mitchell Porter, formerly of Hinsdale St., Town of Ulster, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 94.
She was born in East Kingston, a daughter of the late John and Mary Garfola Mitchell. A lifelong Town of Ulster resident, Rose worked as a sewing machine operator for several area garment factories for many years. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Colman's Church.
Beloved wife of Robert Stanley Porter who died November 29, 1991; mother of Robert M. Porter and his wife Rebecca of Town of Ulster; grandmother of Jeremy Porter and his wife Minna of Pittsburgh, PA and Laura-Beth Porter of Town of Ulster; sister of Mary Perry, Anthony Mitchell and Laura Pendrak, all of Kingston; and the late Patrick, Joseph, Ralph, and Frank Mitchell, Connie Natale and Jennie Spadafora. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 2-4 pm. The funeral procession will form on Monday at 11:30 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
