Rose J. Resso

Rose J. Resso, of Rondout Harbor, Port Ewen died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 1:10 PM at Benedictine Hospital. She was 94. She was born in Kingston on January 2, 1909, a daughter of the late John and Josephine Juliano Liccardo. Formerly of Columbia Street, Town of Ulster, Mrs. Resso previously worked on her family’s farm in the Town of Ulster. A seamstress, for many years Mrs. Resso worked in the area garment industry. She retired from Manhattan Shirt Factory. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Her husband John T. Resso died in 1989 and her daughter Rosemarie Gulnick died on April 1, 2001. Three sisters Lillian Scafidi, Catherine Donato and Mary Lamaro all died previously. Loving mother of John V. “Chops” Resso Jr.; grandmother of Julie Burt, Brenda Binney, John and George Resso, June Lyn, Debbie, Diane and Benjamin J. Gulnick; great grandmother of Steven and Jesse Burt, Jennifer Lyn Binney, Jay Binney, Kyle and Taylor Resso and Justin Biney; great great grandmother of Hailee Rose Binney. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Monday at 10:45 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church at 11:30 AM, Fr. Frank J. Damis will officiate. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
