Rose C. Grube, 101, a lifelong resident of Kingston died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Francis & Maria Benicase and upon Maria's passing, Susan Benicase. Rose enjoyed bowling, knitting, baking, cooking, playing bingo, going to the casino and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rose is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline M. Hoffay and her husband Robert of Kingston, four siblings, Thomas Martino of Kingston, Frank Benicase and his wife Joan of Kingston, Samuel Benicase and his wife Lorraine, Janice Turck and her husband Nicholas of Kingston, six grandchildren, Lisa VanVoorhis (Bill), Laurie Paige (Bill), Robert Jr Hoffay (Maria), Lyn Hammerle (Rob), Richard Hoffay (Lynn) and Kate Franco (Chris), 14 great grandchildren, Patrick, Heather, Robert, Katelyn, Melanie, Nick, Megan, Alexis, Alicyn, Riley, Madison, Tanner, Payton and Josh, one great great grandson, Hunter. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband Francis J. Grube, whom she married on December 28, 1946, seven siblings, Vera Amarello, Charles, Michael, James, Peter and Joseph Benicase, Jenny Serra and one great grandson, Matthew.
Rose will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Thursday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Church
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
