Rose A Nichols

Rose A. Nichols, 87, a lifelong resident of Kingston, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons. Born in East Kingston, she was a daughter of the late John & Louise Costa Milano. She worked at theVan Syke & Horton Cigar Factory, Powell's Box Factory and then the Mid-Town Chop House in the early 1960's. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 150, where she put on meals for "The Sunday Boys". Rose is survived by three children, John P. Finch and his wife Noreen of Tivoli, Nona L. Carpenter and her husband Larry of Cohoes, NY, Philip H. Finch of Kingston, a sister, Victoria (Dolly) Scott and her husband Jim of Kingston, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Harold W. Nichols, who passed in 1995, two children, Bruce Finch and Joan Finch, three sisters, Antoinette Musorofiti, Anna Clearwater, Mary North, six brothers, Pasquale (Patsy) Milano, Michael Milano, James Milano, Leo Milano, Mike Milano and Carmen Milano, a stepfather, Frank Amarello. The Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 150, will conduct their service at 3:30 PM on Sunday. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Robert Bubel of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
