Rosaine “Ronnie” Gold, 98, of Woodstock, NY (formerly of Brooklyn, NY, and Jerusalem, Israel) passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at home. She was born on July 27, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Jacob and Marion (Glatt) Schwartz

She recevied her Bachelor's Degree from Brooklyn College.

She worked for many years as an Elementary School Teacher and later as an artist. She had a home gallery and sold works. She also tutored Russian immigrants in English in Israel.

Ronnie was National Leader and National Secretary of Pioneer Women (now Na' Amat) in USA and she was called the "Golda Meir of America" within the organization. She helped build child care centers, vocational training centers, institutions in Israel to uplift girls/women. She worked to free Soviet Jews. Ronnie made Aliyah with her husband, 1981-1995, lived in Old City of Jerusalem for 15 years and were ardent supporters of Israel. While in Israel, she worked actively for electoral reform. She worked at Na'Amat - Israel. She was active in AACI (Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel). There is a forest of trees dedicated to her in Israel as well as a cultural center in Israel named after her and her husband. She volunteered in hospital with people with disabilities, mostly individuals who painted while holding paintbrushes with their feet and mouth.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Gold of Woodstock. They were married for 77 years. Knew each other for 82 years. They were each other’s whole world. She is also survived by her children, Caralee Gold Moor of Woodstock, Michael Gold and his wife Helen Kloogman of Chappaqua, and Wendy Gold of Saugerties, her former son in law, Bruce Moor of New Paltz, her grandchildren, Gideon Abraham Moor, Elias Jeremiah Moor and his wife Mia, David Rothe, Aaron Gold, Ruthie Gold and her husband Jeremy Pincus, and her late granddaughter, Isabel Gold Moor, her great grandchildren, Chloe Sydel Moor and Isaac Aquino Moor. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, William Schwartz.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, NY.
