Ronald James Kline, 75, of Kingston, NY passed away at his home on Thursday, September 23, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born on October 6, 1934, son of the late Sidney and Christine (Amerun) Kline. He was married to Lorraine (Hetzler) Kline on October 28, 1962. Ronald worked for 36 years at IBM Kingston and Poughkeepsie. He was a member of IBM's Quarter Century Club. He managed various departments before retiring as a Senior Procurement Administrator in 1991. He took on assignments throughout the US during SAGE and SAC Installations. After retirement, he continued to enjoy working as a bank courier, a meals-on-wheels driver and an election inspector. Prior to IBM, he served for 8 years in the New York State National Guard 156FA BAT, US Army 254 ENG BAT and US Army at Fort Benning and Fort Stewart, Georgia. Ronald spent over 40 years as an annual summer vacationer in the 1000 Islands, Clayton, NY, returning each August to enjoy time on the St. Lawrence River with his family. He had a life long passion as an avid fisherman. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing and snow skiing as well as shooting sports. He was an active Longstanding Member and former Treasurer of the Morgan Hill Game Association, a Lifetime Member of the NRA, NYSRPA, and NYSMLA. He always made the time to be a supporter of various charities. He devoted much of his time and energy throughout his life to family members and friends. He volunteered for numerous organizations with his wife while raising their daughters including the Girl Scouts of America and Little League Softball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ronald Kline is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lorraine (Hetzler) Kline; his two devoted daughters, Debbie Kline of Windsor Locks, CT and Dorothy (Kline) Urlich; his son-in-law, Vernon Urlich, 2 loving grandchildren, Ty James Urlich and Taylor Urlich of Marblehead, MA; his sister-in-law, Nancy Hetzler of Red Hook, NY and his niece, Sandra Hetzler Bursezi of Slingerlands, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Kline.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where the procession will form on Tuesday at 10:15 am and proceed to St. Joseph's RC Church where at 11:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Friends and family may call on Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at the funeral home.
