Romie "Aunt Peanut" Purfide died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the Northeast Center for Special Care. She was 86. She was born in Chicago, IL, and lived on Greenkill Avenue in Kingston for many years. She was predeceased by her husband George Purfide, two sisters Carri Turner and Agnes Bandy, one niece Ruby Jones and her husband Lloyd Jones. Beloved great aunt of Christina Freeman, Laura Jones, Maria Otis, Sheri Jones, Agnes Christallo, and Lloyd Jones Jr., and David M. Jones. Great-great aunt of Earlene Dodds. Many more great-great nieces and great-great nephews also survive. Aunt Peanut was dearly loved by all who met her. She will always be remembered as a happy-go-lucky lady that enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards. Reposing at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue on Tuesday from 11:00 - 1:00. At 1:00 a Funeral Service will be conducted by Charlie McComb at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Rosendale.
