Roberta Binns

Roberta Binns of Hudson St., Kingston died Thursday, April 25, 2008 at her home. She was 80. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Robert and Katherine Streth Meconnahey. Her husband Michael N. Binns died February 13, 1949. One daughter Elizabeth Binns, one brother Robert Meconnahey, three sisters Ruth, Gladys and Eleanor Meconnahey, all died previously. Surviving are five sons Robert Binns and his wife Joni of Norton, VT, Mike Binns of Kingston, William Binns and his wife Windy of Lynchburg, VA, George Binns and his wife Debra of Kingston, and Jay Binns of Hurley; three daughters Catherine Banks of Port Ewen, Ann Vazquez of Kingston and Barbara Leek of Kingston; thirteen grandchildren Kate Binns, Tammy Mannello, Melissa Gilmore, George Michael Banks, Robin Banks, Mike Binns, Travis Binns, Peter Vazquez, Samantha Binns, Kortni Binns, Andrew Binns, Jessica Leek and Max Binns; 17 great grandchildren Mathew, Nicole, Jasmine, Kaylie, Kassandra, Ronald, Bruce "BJ", Justin, Alyssa, Cody, Austin, Sierra, George Michael, Kathleen, Olivia, Kristopher and Alexa; 2 great great grandchildren Diamond and Evan, many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Deacon Jack Peters will officiate. Interment will be in Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Inc., 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
