Robert W. Hanigan of Norma Ct., Town of Ulster died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. He was 61.
He was born in Kingston, a son of Andrietta "Etta" Elder Hanigan and the late Francis Hanigan. Formerly of Phoenicia, Bob graduated Onteora High School and received a BA in Business Administration from Ricker College, Maine. On February 28, 1976 he married Johannah Healey at St. Mary's Church.
As a foreman, Bob began a 40 year career at Whitman Electric, Kingston in 1972. He was a member of I.B.E.W., Local #363. A former board member of the Kingston Boys and Girls Club, Bob was a foreman for the creation of the Kingston Kinderland project.
A member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Father Con C. Woulfe Division 1, Ulster County, Bob was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church.
Loving husband of Johannah Hanigan, father of John F. Hanigan and his wife Sara K. of Boise, Idaho and Beth A. Hanigan of Kingston; son of Andrietta "Etta" Hanigan of Phoenicia; grandpa of Jackson Ryan Hanigan.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. The funeral procession will form on Friday at 9:00 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Mathew Azhakath at St. Mary's Church at 10:00. Entombment will follow at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.

A wake service will be conducted on Thursday at 3:30 pm by Fr. Azhakath. The A.O.H., Father Con C. Woulfe Division 1, Ulster County will conduct a service on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
