Robert L. Bain, Jr.

Robert L. Bain, Jr., of Washington Ave., Kingston died Monday, December 3, 2007 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 77. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 15, 1930. Mr. Bain graduated High School in Greenwich, Conn. Formerly of Vermont and Saugerties, he has lived in this area for many years. For over 30 years Mr. Bain worked at the Daily Freeman as an advertising representative. He also headed the union. An avid Yankee fan and sportsman, for many years he belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose, Kingston Lodge. Surviving are his wife, whom he married in June 1991, Louise T. Bain; three sons Robert L. Bain III and his wife Tali, of Greenwich, Conn., Scott Bain and Todd Bain, both of Ulster County; two daughters Martha Posca and her husband Gene of Wisconsin and Peggy Bain of Coxsackie; two step sons, Alexander Bulay of Red Hook and Robert Bulay and his wife Susan of Old Town, Maine; one step daughter, Patricia Edwards of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, and six step grandchildren. One sister, June, died previously. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:00.
