Robert J."Bob" Yonta formerly of Wilbur Ave. died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. He was 70.
He was born in Kingston, a son of the late Dominick and Rose Weider Yonta.
For many years, he was a self-employed contractor and a metal finishing expert, he was a supervisor for Verifab. He was also associated with Rondout Manufacturing Co.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball, coaching youth hockey, woodworking and was an accomplished artist. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Debra America and her husband, Robert of Avon, IN; his son Michael Yonta of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Josephine Primo and Jeanette Provenzano, two brothers, Michael and Donald Yonta all of Kingston; three grandchildren, Michael Yonta, Jacob and Nicholas America; his beloved niece, Lena Serrano and his former wife, Patricia Sember Yonta. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Two sisters, Viola Davide and Betty Spada and two brothers, Thomas Yonta and Cpl. Vincent A. Yonta died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, 12:00 PM by Fr. Frank Damis. Entombment will follow in the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
