Robert Otto Goss Jr. of Palenville, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes Saturday August 28th, 2023. Goss was a star student at Catskill High School, and King of the Prom. After completing his service in the Air Force, he returned to Palenville, then moved to New York City to pursue his dream as the people’s poet and musician. He founded The Warm Jets in 1986 and embedded himself in New York’s Lower East Side music scene. Robert founded American Gothic Records, releasing singles for Dee Dee Ramone, Ritchie Stotts of The Plasmatics and Circle X to name a few. He later founded the bands Crippled & The Burnout and The Super Creeps with many friends. He will be remembered for bringing music to Palenville and a musical mentor to many. He is survived by his mother, 3 brothers and 2 children.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 at 12:30pm at Ulster County Veterans Cemetery at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Road, New Paltz, NY 12561.
