Robert Edge

Robert A. Edge, 91, of Kingston, NY, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Kingston, NY, son of the late Chester and Mary (Scully) Edge. He was married to his loving wife of 61 years, Helen (Rose) Edge.

Bob served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later worked for IBM for many years where he was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was a Commissioner of the City of Kingston DPW, Director of the City of Kingston Knothole League, and was a Founding Member of the West Sprout Rod and Gun Club. Bob enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, they were everything to him. 

He is survived by his wife, Helen Edge of Kingston, his children, Robert Edge, Jr. and his wife Lori of Port Ewen, Barbara Hertle and her husband John of Kingston, Susan Hollenzer and her husband Phil of Florida, Richard Robbins and his wife Irene of Warwarsing, his son in law, Steve Ferraro of Florida, his grandchildren, Dana Hollenzer, Julie Palleschi, Kimberly Berendt, Michele Ortiz, Samantha Robbins, Brittany Brocco, and John Hertle, IV, many great grandchildren, his sister Jeanne Patterson, several nieces and nephews, William Smith who was like a son to Bob, as well as his beloved West Highland Terrier, Molly. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Linda Ferraro, and his sister, Bernice Pritchard.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11am with burial following in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
