Robert E. Hildenbrand Sr. of Harwich Street, Town of Ulster died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 73.
Born in Rockville Centre, Long Island on May 13, 1931, he was a son of the late George and Ruth Tiedeman Hildenbrand.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
An area resident for many years he was a former volunteer at Mt. Marion Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Police.
For many years he was a foreman at F.L. Russell, Saugerties. He also worked at Cantines Mill and Ferroxcube. For 13 years he worked as a body mechanic for Berzal Oldsmobile-Pontiac in Saugerties. His last job was as a security guard for Pinkerton at the former Ireco.
His wife Marie Rose Sestito Hildenbrand died June 22, 2003. One son Steven Thomas Hildenbrand died July 31, 1958.
Surviving are two sons Robert E. Hildenbrand Jr. and his wife Caroline of Kingston and Joseph D. Hildenbrand of Town of Ulster; two daughters Sharon Rose Barringer and her husband Kenneth of Kerhonkson and Georgia R. Hildenbrand of Poughkeepsie; one brother George Hildenbrand of Catskill; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 4:30 on Sunday by Deacon Jack Peters.
Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie at a later date.
