Robert A. Loeffler, formerly of Abruyn St., Kingston, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. He was 85.
He was born in Kingston, a son of the late Robert and Anna Koskie Loeffler.
Mr. Loeffler served in the Marines during WW II and was a member of Joyce-Scherick Post 1386 VFW and Kingston American Legion Post 150.
Mr. Loeffler was a night supervisor for Charles Freihofer Baking Co. in New Paltz and retired in 1991, following 30 years of service.
His first wife, Lillian Avery Loeffler died in 1965. His second wife, June S. "Peachie" Fischer Loeffler died in 2005.
Surviving are his children, Judith Hamilton of Kingston, David Loeffler of Kingston, Michael Loeffler of Kingston, Tammy Nestell of Lake Katrine and Eric Loeffler of Lake Katrine. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Two sons, Robert and Daniel Loeffler and two brothers, Francis and William Loeffler died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 AM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
