Town of Ulster -Robert A. Bodenweber, 84, of Evergreen St., passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Kingston, a son of the late August and Elizabeth Newsome Bodenweber.
He was a Kingston High School graduate and a veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean War. He was trained as a tool and die maker and worked for IBM as a mechanical engineer retiring in 1990 after 39 ½ years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure Church. Bob enjoyed the challenge of being able to fix almost anything, from cars to building houses, and was always eager to lend a hand to family and friends. He enjoyed family vacations on the Jersey shore and Sanibel Island and nothing meant more to him than his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Barbara (Holodak) Bodenweber; two daughters, Cathy (William) Frangis of Kingston, Karen (Wayne) Waligurski of Hurley; three sons, Robert (Dale) Bodenweber of Hurley, David Bodenweber of Highland and Paul (Patti) Bodenweber of Kingston; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Paul) Onyon, Nicholas (Allison) Frangis, Zachary Bodenweber, Emily Rose Waligurski and Daniel Waligurski; step-grandchildren, Rebecca Morano, Kristin (Matthew) Molinaro and a sister, Mary E. Forgey of Kingston. Many nieces and nephews, including Richie Forgey who was like his fourth son, also survive. Two sisters, Jean F. Bodenweber and Rita M. Geary and a brother, William K. Bodenweber died previously.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where family and friends will be received on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 from 4 to 7p.m. A funeral procession will form on Monday at 10 a.m. and process to St. Catherine Laboure Church Lake Katrine for a 11 a.m. funeral Mass.
