Rita R. Winter

WINTER- Rita R. Winter, nee Loughran, of Palenville, died at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, November 13, 2004. She was 40 years old. Rita was born in Kingston, NY on May 11, 1964 the daughter of George and Ann Loughran. She was employed as a registered nurse in the Center for Cancer and Blood disorders at Albany Medical Center. After many years as a home health care provider, Rita finally realized her dream and graduated with honors from Columbia Greene Community College with a degree in nursing. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society and a member of the Fountain of Life Christian Church in Lake Katrine. Rita was a devoted wife and mother, loyal friend and force to be reckoned with. She was a devout Christian who led many people to Jesus Christ. Rita was a vibrant spark in the lives of all she knew and always helped those in need. Survivors include her parents, her loving husband, Harold F. Winter, her beloved children, Benjamin, Samuel and Megan of Pallenville, NY. A brother Raymond G. Loughran and sister-in-law Mary Jo Loughran of Bloomington, NY, and sister Ruthann Wakefield and brother-in-law Bruce G. Wakefield of Lyndonville, VT and her dearest friend Dawn Markel of Kingston, NY. Many nephews, nieces, cousins, colleagues and friends survive her. “We will miss you all of our lives”. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:00 noon by Elder Peter Scott. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
