Rita Bobelis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend Rita Jacinta Bobelis on August 10, 2023. Rita was born January 4, 1956, in Brooklyn New York to the late Bronius and Stase Jurpalis Bobelis. Rita is survived by her dear friends, Pam Boyle, Debbie Boice, Sandy Krom, Anna Turner, her sister in law, Larka Bobelis, and many cousins. Rita also leaves behind her fury cat, Peaty. In addition to her parents, Rita is predeceased by her sister, Audrey, and her brother, Romas.

Rita is a graduate of Queens College and worked for Ulster County Information Services for over 31 years, retiring in 2017. Rita enjoyed listening to music, dancing and spending time with her UC friends by the water. Rita was a light in this world and now we need to continue shining her light by carrying it within us in our own lives.
