Richard Tubby

Richard Tubby of O’Neil Street, Kingston died July 21, 2005. He was 66. He was born in Sleightsburg on November 2, 1938, a son of the late James and Myrtle Selleck Tubby. A lifelong area resident, Richard was an avid CB radio user. He married Margaret E. Barth at the Church of the Comforter on August 13, 1966. As a young man Richard worked in the kitchen at the former Trailways on Broadway. For 18 years he was a cook at the former Governor Clinton Hotel, Kingston. He then worked for 18 years at Hutton Nursing Home as a dietary aid. He retired in 2000. Over the years Richard also worked at the Howard Johnson, the Stockade Restaurant and Corvaia II Restaurant, Kingston. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Eva Marie Tubby and her companion Mark Iaconni of Long Pond, PA; and Melissa Tubby of Port Ewen; two brothers Bruce Tubby of Durham, CT and Charles Tubby of Holly Hills, FL; two sisters Phyllis Preston of Massena and Alice Linder of Town of Ulster; two half-sisters Ea Tubby of Nevada and Edna Sickler of Texas; two granddaughters Kayla and Christina; many nieces and nephew. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 12:00. Rev. David Brechter will officate. Inurnment will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery at a later date.
