Richard Sickler, 78, of Doylestown, PA, formerly of Kingston, died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Pine Run Retirement Community in Doylestown, PA. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late William & Mathilda Sass Sickler, and dear brother to Ronald of Colorado and Eileen Perry of Florida.
After graduating from Rider College, Rich began his 30 plus year career with IBM and affiliates. He pursued many different business opportunities with IBM that led him to locations in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Arizona, and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where he retired.
He was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed watching the races in person and on TV. He also enjoyed traveling with friends and family and vacationed every winter on Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Rich is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan Zammiello Sickler, and his five children: Craig Sickler and his wife Jennifer of Kingston; Stephen Sickler of Kingston; Eileen Klan of Kingston; Kathleen Brodhead of Port Ewen; Jon Brodhead and his wife Nancy of Perkasie, PA. Beloved grandfather of twelve grandchildren: Juliana, Jacob, and Carter Sickler; Olivia and Jack Sickler; Griffin and Emme Klan; Adam, Colin and Kaitlin Spyhalsky; Kimberly Bizon and her husband PJ; and Zachary Brodhead; as well as three great-grandchildren: Samantha, Charlotte, and Luke Bizon.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother and sister, a stepson, Jeffrey Brodhead and a son in law, Ed Klan.
Rich will be reposing at the Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Church.
Entombment will follow in Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
