Richard P Boice

Richard "Dick" Pratt Boice, 95, died on December 27th, 2021, at his residence in Lake Katrine, with his loving family by his side. He was born March 5, 1926, to Pratt and Harriet Boice.
In March of 1947, he married Helen Dahl and their life together began. Helen and Dick purchased Thruview Farm in Lake Katrine and started out milking cows, raising chickens and had six beautiful children. In 1969, Dick took over the family business, Boice Bros. Dairy.
Dick had many accomplishments, such as serving as a 4-H counselor, serving on the Kingston School Board, as a Town of Ulster Councilman for 14 years, and as police commissioner.
Helen and Dick were members of the Plattekill Reformed Church in Saugerties. They loved Square Dancing, RV trips all over the country and bringing the motorcycle. Dad never complained about anything and always said Thank-You.
He was the husband of the late Helen D. Boice. He was predeceased by his son Pratt Boice II. He is survived by his children, Arthur Dahl Boice and his wife Darlene A., Helen B. Sauer and partner Dennis Lowe, James D. Boice and his wife Wendy J., Richard A. Boice and his wife Jeanne, Sarah M. "Sally" Ward and her husband Endel, along with 15 grandchildren. Cindy, Mike, Sabrina, Shawn, Arthur Jr., Ron, Christina, James, Christopher, Ashley, Shianne, Blaze, Melissa, Jamie, Mark, and 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, the family will receive their friends on Tuesday January 4th, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 pm
The procession will form at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 am, the service will be at the Plattekill Reformed Church on Kings Highway, Saugerties at 11:00 am and burial to follow at Mt. Marion Cemetery.
