Richard M. LaPeruta, 81, of Mount Marion, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday December 10, 2020.

Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Dominick and Claire (Salerno) LaPeruta.

An alumnus of Roosevelt High School (Bronx), he was a retired machinist of Methods Tooling and Manufacturing (Mount Marion, NY). Richard was devoted to his family and enjoyed hiking, biking, and attending church as a member of the St. John the Evangelist Church of Saugerties, NY.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith (Spetalieri) LaPeruta, whom he married on March 23, 1964, three sons, Richard LaPeruta and wife, Mary of Hillsborough, NJ, James LaPeruta of Mount Marion, and Michael LaPeruta and his wife, Robin of Mount Marion, a daughter, Paula Bruce of Wellington, FL, a sister, Anntheresa Medeci and her husband George of Wappingers Falls, NY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ashley LaPeruta, Amber LaPeruta, Alexa LaPeruta, Anastasia LaPeruta, Logan LaPeruta, Aurora LaPeruta, Alexis LaPeruta, Isabella Bruce, and Lindsay Buchanan, three great grandchildren Alexandria LaPeruta, Eloise LaPeruta, and Bryant Zimmerman, a niece, Lori (Moran) Calandra and a nephew, Lawrence Moran.

Richard will be reposing at the Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Tuesday December 15, 2020 from 10 am to 12 pm. Due to Covid 19 concerns, the family of Richard has requested that close family members only, may attend.

The funeral service will be held at 12 pm at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s of the Snow Cemetery.
