Richard K. Wood

Richard K. "Dick" Wood, 88, of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born September 4, 1927 in Kingston, to the late Kenneth and Frances (Geroldsek) Wood.


He was married to his wife of 60 years, Teresa (Carr) Wood who passed away on March 23, 2011.


Dick was a lifelong resident of Kingston and a graduate of Kingston High School. He served his country in the US Army. Dick later received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for IBM for many years before retiring in 1988.


He is survived by his children Richard K. Wood Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Sarasota, FL; Robert D. Wood and his wife Micki of Hurley; David S. Wood and his wife Toni of Myrtle Beach, SC; William R. Wood and his wife Gina of Punta Gorda, FL; Patricia W. Connors and her husband Steve of Hurley; Barbara A. McCardle and her husband Joseph of Kingston; Cynthia W. deOlde and her husband Stephen Jr. of Kingston; his grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Kevin, Daniel, Christopher, Katie, Ashley, and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Beckett, Emilia, and Miles; and his sister, Joan W. Fougere of Pittsboro, NC.


Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, where friends may call on Sunday July 10 from 1 - 4 pm. A private service for family will be held on Monday at 2pm at the funeral home with entombment following in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
