Richard I. Perzley, MD of Beth Drive, Kingston died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at home. He was 54.
He was born April 8, 1951 in Camden, NJ a son of William Perzley and the late Elaine Kilberg Perzley.
Dr. Perzley graduated from Pennsylvania State University five year Pre-Med/Medical Program, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction in 1971. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA in 1973. He served his residency at Milwaukee Children's Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Perzley served in pediatric practices in Philadelphia, PA, Bristol, CT, Lexington, KY, Chapel Hill, Wilmington and Henderson, NC.
In 2002, he joined the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute in Kingston as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Care Center. he was a member of the American Board of Pediatrics and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the North Carolina Medical Society and the North Carolina Pediatric Society.
He was a member of Temple Emanuel, a supporter of the Mononk Preserve and enjoyed bird watching and hiking.
Surviving in addition to his father of Delray Beach, FL is his wife, Sally E. Anderson whom he married June 30, 1972; two daughters, Sara A. and Julia A. of Kingston and two sisters, Laurie Perzley of Yarmouth, ME and Jill Card of West Newbery, MA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:00 noon at Temple Emanuel in Kingston. Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Burial will be in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
Shiva will be observed at the residence from Thursday afternoon, with Minyon at 7:00 until Friday at sunset(no Minyon). Shiva will continue on Sunday with Minyon at 7:00 pm. The final days of Shiva will be private.
