Richard D Deyo

Richard D. Deyo, 80, passed away quietly on March 25th 2013 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. He has joined his wife Anna who passed away in 2011 and son Ken who passed away in 2012, both of whom he missed dearly.




He was born August 14, 1932 in Kingston to the late Kenneth & Anna (Glass) Deyo. He attended Kingston High School. After High school Richard served in the US Navy, Seabees from 1952-1956. During this time he was stationed for 2 years in the Philippines.




He worked as a roofer, painter and carpenter throughout his life, passing these skills down to his son, son-in-law and grandsons.




He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Donald Shumen, Jr. and their children Crystal Winkler and Donald Shumen III, his sons children; Jimmy and Richie Deyo, Stephanie Fields and Victoria Deyo and 6 great grandchildren. He has one surviving sister, Esther Aldridge of NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.




The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Golden Hill Helath Care Center. Their love and care for "Pops" will always be cherished.




In addition to his wife and son he is predeceased by his siblings, Robert, Reginald (Bud) and Donald Deyo, Gertude Johns and Kathleen (Kay) Proper.




Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, Services will be held privately at the wishes of Mr. Deyo.
