Richard A. Baez

February 14, 1990 — July 1, 2017

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce that Richard Anthony Baez, 27, passed away on July 1st 2017, in Newburgh, NY. He was born on February 14th, 1990 in Staten Island, NY to Louise Kelly Johnson and Wilson Baez.

Richard Baez grew up in Staten Island, NY. He graduated from Petrides High school where he enrolled in ROTC Airforce. After high school, he attended University of Phoenix for a degree in business management. He was a very hard worker, and intended on enlisting into the Army this year.

Richard Baez became a father on June 29th, 2012 to a baby girl named Mia Kathleen Baez. He was a loving father, brother and son. Richard knew how to keep everyone in his life laughing. He made sure the ones he loved always had smiles on their faces. He had a funny face he would make that only his close family knew about, which made him the family jokester. His sense of humor made him who he was, and that was a special, amazing, good hearted young man. Anyone who met him, instantly loved him. He will be greatly missed.

Richard Baez will be donating his organs. He will be able to help so many people continue to live and that will be his last gift to this world. By doing so he will help people with heart disease, the blind so they can see, burn victims, and War Vet amputees.

Richard Baez is survived by his daughter, Mia Kathleen Baez, his mother Louise Kelly Johnson, his father Wilson Baez, his stepmother Sonia Baez, his sister Christina Baez, his nephew Isaiah Jenkins, his Grandparents Helen and Richard Johnson and Grandmother Maryann Bair, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

The family will greet their family and friends at the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen NY 12466 on Monday July 10th from 1 - 4 pm with the service at 4 pm. The family will gather for the repast at Ascension Holy Trinity Church Hall, West Park, NY 12493 following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Mia Baez Scholarship Fund, c/o of Kelly Johnson.
