Rhoda Mittenberg

Rhoda Mittenberg of Corriedale Lane, Cottekill, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home. She was 81. She was born in Brooklyn on May 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Morris and Anna Shapiro Rifkin. Formerly of Seattle, Washington, she was an Administrative Assistant at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA from 1984 - 2004. A Lifelong member of Hadassah, she was former Chapter President of Golda Meir, Seattle, WA. Formerly of Seattle, WA and Brooklyn, she moved to this area in August 2008. One son, Steven Mittenberg, died previously. Surviving are two sons, Michael Mittenberg of Brooklyn, and Robert Mittenberg and his wife Valerie of Cottekill; one granddaughter, Hannah J. Mittenberg of Cottekill, one sister, Barbara Peltz and her husband William of Seattle, WA. Loving aunt to Gary & Sue Peltz, Todd & Kathy Peltz, Jake, Sammy & Amy Peltz and Alison Peltz all of Seattle, WA Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 noon at Montrepose Cemetery. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, Kingston. In lieu of flowers you may donate, in Rhoda's memory, to: Birthright Israel Foundation, POB 1784, NY, NY 10156.
