He was married to his loving wife Helena (Tagliafierro) DiBella, they have been together for the past 38 years. Renato was a hardworking and devoted husband and father. His dedication and love shaped our lives in countless ways. We are forever grateful for his unwavering support and cherish the memories we shared. He will be deeply missed and loved always and forever. Renato loved working alongside his family. He devoted long hours running our family restaurant. He was our rock. He opened up our first business in 1998, alongside his wife, and named it “DiBella’s Pizza Shop.” The original location was on Washington Avenue and since 2014 at our current location on Lucas Avenue. He really loved our restaurant and the many friends he made along the way. He always enjoyed spending time after hours with his friends, enjoying a cocktail and a cigar with them. Renato was an amazing storyteller, he always gave the best advice and could talk to you for hours about his family, his work, and his experiences. He lived an incredible life, one that will never be forgotten by the people he touched and got to share it with.
Renato loved playing soccer, and in his youth, he played on the soccer teams in the Kingston Sports Club and at Coleman High School, Kingston High School, and Ulster County Community College. He also coached in the Kingston Area Soccer League and at Coleman High School for his son and daughter for many years.
He was a proud volunteer at the Spring Lake Fire Department where he was serving as Lieutenant and Commissioner. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and shooting with his daughters. He also loved relaxing and spending time with his family on his days off. Renato was a member of the Cyprus Shriners in Albany and the Ambassadors Unit of Ulster County. He was also an Elk in the Kingston Elk’s Lodge.
Renato is survived by his wife, Helena, his children, Marco and his wife Rosanna, Michela, and Marina, his grandson, Stefano, his brothers, Alfred DiBella Jr., and Joseph DiBella and his partner Leigha, his nieces Fiona and Natalia and his nephew Jovian. His in-laws in the Tagliafierro family, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved grand dogs, Lily, Rocky, Kody, and Bentley.
