Reginald ''Reggie'' E. Lawlis, Sr., 78, of Ulster Park, died Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2012 at Golden Hill Health Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 23, 1933 in Merrill, Maine, the son of the late Preston and Alice Lawlis, Sr...
He graduated from Oakfield High School in Maine, and then attended the University of Presque Isle in Maine; he then served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He had been the president of Hanstein, Berardi & Lawlis Insurance until his retirement
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church, he had been an avid golfer and was Past President of Twaalfskill Golf Club, he was the recipient of the American Heart Association award for Outstanding Volunteerism, and he had been a member of the Exchange Club of Kingston.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife Josephine Berardi Lawlis, they celebrated 51 of marriage September 11, 2011. his children Maria Bryant and her husband Michael, Reginald "Reggie"Lawlis, Jr. and his wife Alice, Monica Dallas and her husband Chuck. Grandchildren Kayla and Steven Hammerl, Jr. and Anthony Lawlis, great grandson Aiden Hammerl. A sister Nadine Kennedy, his brother in law James Berardi Jr. and his wife Faith, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Preston Lawlis, Jr. and a sister Eloise Fisher
Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3 - 7 pm. The procession will form at 9:00 am on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's RC Church at 10 am.
