Raymond D. Winnie of Clifton Terrace, Kingston died Monday, September 13, 2010 at his home. He was 85.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, he was the son of the late Russell and Bertha Van Vliet Winnie and step-son of the late Elwin Krom.
On August 30, 1952, he married Norma Hornbeck.
Mr. Winnie served in the US Army Air Corp. during WW II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. For many years he worked at Central Hudson in Eltings Corners. He was a member of the 25 year Club at Central Hudson.
He served as Deacon on the Consistory of the Reformed Church of the Comforter. Mr. Winnie enjoyed auto racing, camping and woodworking.
One son in law, Gary Griffin, died previously.
Surviving are his wife Norma H. Winnie, two daughters Pamela Griffin of Fenton, MI, Denise Maccaline and her husband Paul of Kingston, three grandchildren, Kendra Lee Maccaline, Erin and Ryan Griffin.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 12:00. Rev. David Brechter will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
