Ralph A. Brandt Sr., of Deyo Street died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Albany Medical Center. He was 73.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, he was born on November 20, 1931, a son of the late Harry R. and Cora Smith Brandt.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Korea.
For 25 years Ralph worked construction for Local 17, Newburgh. He retired in 1991. He previously worked as a roofer for the family business: Brandt Brothers Roofing. He also drilled in the quarries in East Kingston.
An avid bowler and gambler he was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
His first wife Loretta Ann Scott Brandt died in 1975. Five brothers Walter, Ronald, John P. and Harry Brandt Jr. and Donald Koeppen all died previously.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Carol Schultz Mulford Brandt; two sons Ralph A. Brandt Jr. of Morrisville and Gary A. Brandt of Kingston; one daughter Patricia Stingel of Rosendale; four brothers Roger H. and Charles Brandt, both of Mt. Marion, Gerald F. Brandt of Kingston, and Barry R. Brandt of Kingston; five sisters Aileen Bushey of Kingston, Cora Reilly, of Port Ewen, Doris Brandt, Shirley Gollnick and Joyce Brandt all of Kingston; four grandchildren Stephanie Ann and Lori Lee Brandt, Sabrina Marie and Samantha ann Fales. Several step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
