Rae Weiner, a lifelong Kingston resident, died Saturday, August 21, 2004, at Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing home in Albany. She was 95. She graduated Kingston High School and attended Spencer’s Business School. Most of her career was as a salesperson and bookkeeper at Bongartz Pharmacy. For many years she was an active member of Congregation Agudas Achim and its Sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah.
Born January 18, 1909 in Kingston, New York, she was the daughter of Sarah Efron and Pinkus Weiner. Three brothers, Morris, Theodore, and Max Weiner, and one nephew, Philip Weiner, predeceased her.
Miss Weiner is survived by a sister, Evelyn Gollop, of Melbourne, Florida and was a devoted aunt to Phyllis Goldman of White Plains, Doris Zackheim of Melbourne, Fla., Joan Gallagher of New Paltz and Paula Gally and Julian Weiner both of Kingston and Judith Polinsky, Hurley. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 1:00 PM at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Y. Yitzchok Hecht of Congregation Agudas Achim will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
