Rachelle Katz

Rachelle Katz of Downs St., Kingston died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her son's home in Katonah, NY. She was 84. She was born in Brussels, Belgium, a daughter of Maria Cohen Kadish. Rachelle immigrated to the US in the 1940's. On April 3, 1952 she married Jack Katz. She settled in Kingston and, for many years, was the manager of Plural Fashions in the Kingston Plaza. Rachelle was an active member of Temple Emanuel and its Sisterhood. For many years she ran Temple's annual rummage sale. Her husband, Jack, died October 31, 2006. Beloved mother of Marilyn Harding of Santa Clara, CA; Sandra Katz and her husband John Aronis of Champion, PA and Mory Katz and his wife Amy Katz of Katonah; loving grandmother of Aaron and Kimberly Katz and Audrey Aronis. Special thanks to her daughter in law, Amy, for her loving care to Rachelle. A public Funeral Service will be conducted at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday at 12:00 PM. Cantor Robert Cohen will officiate. Interment, in Montrepose Cemetery, will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
