Phyllis M. Turco, 91, of Kingston, passed peacefully Saturday morning, September 17, 2016 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, after a short illness. She was born October 17, 1924 in Newburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Paladine) Glielmi.
Phyllis was very devoted to her family, especially to her mother, but she was most proud of her daughter Andrea and her accomplishments. She had a great love for animals, in particular her poodles who would often accompany her on her errands. She enjoyed her Italian heritage, and the Sunday dinners with her family keeping the traditions alive.
She was always known for her sense of style, and was always elegantly dressed.
Phyllis moved to Kingston in 1955 where she and her husband Andrew R. Turco owned and operated Turco Milk Transportation on Morton Blvd for many years. Andrew passed on January 26, 1981.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Andrea "Andi" Turco-Levin and her husband Tony Levin of Kingston, step children Jeannette O'Connor, Joe Turco and his wife Judy, George Turco and his wife Patricia and Andrew (Sandy) Turco Jr., a brother Robert (Sonny) Gliemli and his wife Annette and many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Louise Calvino and Joseph Glielmi.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm.
