A graveside inurnment will be conducted at St. Mary's Cemetery on Saturday, January 24th at 11:30 a.m.
Phyllis E. Godfrey of River Road, Ulster Park and formerly of Orlando St., Town of Ulster died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Kingston Hospital. She was 86.
She was born April 1, 1922 in Brooklyn a daughter of the late Joseph Ashcroft and Muriel Gould Ashcroft Doshkin. Her step-father Iwan Doshkin also died previously.
From 1955-1971, Mrs. Godfrey was employed as a salesperson for Gimbel's in Valley Stream. She was a member of the Town of Ulster Senior Citizens, RSVP, serving as a grandmother for students at Chambers School. She was an avid reader and card player with her friends as 7 Greens in the Town of Ulster.
Her husband, James Godfrey and her children, James Godfrey Jr., Colleen Geraci and Dennis Godfrey and her sister, Muriel Klaman died previously.
Surviving are her five grandchildren, James Geraci and his wife Lisa, Wayne Geraci and his wife Joan and Jill Aberle and her husband Matthew, Patti Godfrey-Spingola, Cheryl Godfrey and her five great-grandchildren, Becky Geraci, Joseph Geraci, Sara Salomon, Jack and Katie Aberle. Four nephews also survive.
