Philip J. Coignard of Old Stage Road, Town of Ulster died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Kingston Hospital. He was 74.
He was born in New York City on June 26, 1934. Mr. Coignard lived in Long Island for over forty years and later moved to Bremerton, Washington for 17 years.
Mr. Coignard was a self-employed Master Carpenter in Great Neck for many years.
Surviving are one daughter Cynthia Young of Town of Ulster, two sons Jeff Coignard of Town of Ulster and Brett Coignard of Rockwell, NC; four grandchildren Jennifer McCarthy, Phillip and Jesse Coignard; Benjamin Bennett: one great granddaughter Jenna McCarthy; and Piper Bennett, his former wife Josephine Lee of Benson, NC; his best friend Harry and many other friends, coast to coast.
His life partner Dorothy Schaffer, one granddaughter Celia Coignard and one great granddaughter Cara McCarthy all died previously.
Cremation will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Young residence
