Philip Bernhardt Boice, 83, of Town of Ulster, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY. He was born September 26, 1928 in Town Of Ulster, NY to the late George and Nellie Hofmann Boice Sr.
Mr. Boice was a second generation farmer, operating the Boice Farm in the Town of Ulster. He attended Old Dutch Church in Kingston and was a member of Ruby Rod and Gun Club. Enjoyed fishing, water and snow skiing.
Surviving are one brother; Stanley Boice of Kingston and three sisters; Inez Wood of Kingston, Ellen Kirchner of Suring, WI and Freda Strokes of Kingston, NY. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Three brothers, George William Boice Jr, Charles Hofmann Boice and Paul Boice died previously.
Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor Kenneth Walsh of Old Dutch Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurley Cemetery, Hurley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ruby Rod & Gun Club, P.O. Box 11, Ruby, NY 12475. Light a candle in memory of Philip at carrandsonfuneralhome.com
