Peter Mitchell Beam of Green St., Kingston died Friday, December 12, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 64.
He was born January 15, 1944 in the Bronx, the son of the late Isidore Tompkins and Clarice Belle Philhower Beam.
He received a bachelor's degree in history from Alma White College in New Brunswick, NJ and a Master of Divinity from the Evengelical School of Theology. A former history teacher, he also served as a Methodist and Congregational pastor for many communities in Maine, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. He also worked as a sales and marketing manager, a rehabilitation counselor at the home for boys in Jamesburg, NJ and worked with adults with disabilities at Threshold in Pennsylvania. He had a love of history, antiques, photography, music and animals.
Surviving are his wife, MaryJane Hover Beam, two daughters Heather Gulnick and her husband Burton Jr. of Kingston and Bonnie Daniels and her husband Kenneth of Wildwood, Missouri; two grandchildren Abigail and Jacob Gulnick.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday from 4 7 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Henry Wuerz will officiate. Interment will follow in Lower Valley Union Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
