Pearl Adams formerly of Saugerties died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 92.
She was born in the Bronx in 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Frieda. She received a BA in Fine Arts from Ramapo College in New Jersey.
Following service in WW II, in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, she continued service in the war effort as a welder in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
A bookkeeper as well as an artist, she continued studying art throughout her life. She studied at the Art Students League of New York and other places. She was a member of the First Unitarian Society of Rockland County.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie Sitney of Saugerties and New York City and Celeste Adams, of Santa Monica, CA; a sister, Lois Ross of New York City; son-in-law Jonathan Delson; two grandchildren Blake and Sky Sitney; six nieces and nephews, Steve, Ken, William and Susie White, Amy Cummins and Joan Rosen and eleven great-nieces and great-nephews.
A sister, Irene White died previously.
Inurnment will take place in the First Unitarian Cemetery of Rockland County Memorial Garden at a later date.
